Welcome TFL! Amy is currently offering virtual classes for TFL Amy is also available to book private personal training sessions through TFL where virtual training is available. Classes and Workshops available: (list with description below) Yoga: Hatha Yoga Vinyasa Flow Core Yoga Gentle Yoga Chair Yoga Restorative Yin/Yang Yin Yoga Nidra (guided meditation) Gentle Yoga plus Nidra Pre-Natal (and post-natal) Yoga Meditation Fitness: Low-Impact Cardio Toning Class Strong Nation (Fitness/music class) HIIT Class/Body-Weight Boot Camp Resistance Fitness Small Group Personal Training Tennis/Golf Conditioning Stretch Class Workshops/Series: Self-Care Chakra Yoga Descriptions: Gentle/Beginner Yoga: Fundamentals and form are emphasized, verbal description with physical demonstration of poses are given. I combine Gentle Yoga and Nidra for a 30 min. relaxing yoga, 30 min guided meditation class. Chair Yoga: a general term for practices that modify yoga poses so they can be done while seated in a chair. These modifications make yoga accessible to people who cannot stand, lack the mobility to move easily from standing to seated to supine positions, or want a quick break from office work. It is an ideal way to begin yoga for many. Many people enjoy this virtual class as a way to work their way into yoga and for stretching and reducing stress Restorative Yoga: It helps provide that physical and mental balance to prevent stress and anxiety, through the use of props that allow you to hold poses longer, giving you all the benefits of deep, passive stretching. A variety of props including blankets, bolsters and yoga blocks are used to fully support your body in each pose. Best for: Everyone. In particular, for anyone who has a hard time slowing down, who has experienced insomnia or who struggles with anxiety. Restorative and relaxing to the body and mind. Yin Yoga: Yin has the same objectives as other discipline of yoga; however, it targets the connective tissues, such as ligaments, bones, and even the joints of that body that normally don’t get the love and attention necessary to keep the body in a healthy balance. These parts of the body are not usually exercised during a more “yang” style of yoga practice. (hatha, bikram, etc.) Yin Yoga is the PERFECT complement to styles that emphasize building internal heat and lengthening and contracting muscles. It is suitable for all levels of students. Yin/Yang class: First half of class is a more active yoga class and then the 2nd half are for longer held Yin poses. Many people enjoy this combination. Yoga Nidra: known as yogic sleep—is a meditation and conscious relaxation practice that is intended to induce total physical, mental, and emotional relaxation. It is said that an hour of yoga nidra can be as restorative as four hours of regular sleep. Yoga NIdra is a guided meditation. Yoga/Pilates: The best of both worlds of mat pilates and yoga with deeper core work and conditioning, using control, balance and breath. Elongation, focus, control and strengthening. My combination class provides a perfect blend of lengthening, stretching, strengthening and deepening your control and core strength. Pilates: Learn techniques for deep control and strengthening of core muscles while toning the full body. Slower movement and concentration. Mat pilates exercises. Core Yoga - Core and Balance focus: Foundational Yoga with strengthening, grounding and core development. Standing poses building strength and balancing asanas are included. Core work on a regular and deep level. Breathwork and control. Pre-Natal Yoga - prenatal yoga is a multifaceted approach to yoga exercise that encourages stretching, mental centering and focused breathing. Research suggests that prenatal yoga is safe and can have many benefits for pregnant women and their babies. Prenatal yoga can improve sleep. This yoga is also appropriate for after new mothers easing their way back into things. Meditation Class: Mindfulness, Techniques, Breathwork. I have developed a class to help people learn how to bring meditation into their lives in a realistic, effective way. I share different techniques giving a variety of ways to achieve a regular practice. This is a special class offering tools for mindfulness to enrich one's life. Fitness: "Let's Move" - a low-impact toning exercise class that increases heart-rate, gets the sweat started and increases steps. Body-weight, light weights and bands can be used. STRONG Nation™ (by Zumba) combines body weight, muscle conditioning, cardio and plyometric training moves synced to original music that has been specifically designed to match every single move. Every squat, every lunge, every burpee is driven by the music, helping you make it to that last rep, and maybe even five more. A higher-intensity class that can be modified and appropriate for varying levels. Body Weight HIIT Class - also known as Body-Weight Bootcamp class. Resistance Fitness - a fun home workout class utilizing resistance bands, body-weight exercises and weights to get a good workout. (I work with what people have at home). Small Group Personal Training - this is a smaller group (1-4) and provides more hands on attention and more focussed personal training exercises than a class. Monthly regular exercises are given, with goals and modifications per person given. Regular attendance suggested. Stretch Class - a much needed offering for many, this class is focussed on stretching and breathing for fitness-minded folks. Physical therapy geared exercises for specific areas are used (shoulders, rotator cuff, arms/elbows hips, knees, feet, etc) Tennis/Golf Conditioning - this class offers warm-ups, toning and strengthening exercises specifically designed for tennis and golf players. Much core work is incorporated. Series/Workshops: Self-Care Workshop - a series using the best techniques from yoga and meditation for rest and relaxation, reducing stress and anxiety, incorporating breathwork and yoga movement (Yin and Restorative postures, Reiki included). This is a series or stand alone workshop. Chakra Yoga Workshop - incorporating the powerful chakra centers in our yoga asanas and breathwork - clearing, opening and energizing the body.
